How does freedom of the British press has changed since the 1700's?

I have to write an essay of that title in my lesson Oh the media so help would be greatly appreciated Thank you:).

Not much has changed at all, the British press have always had a great freedom in theory if not always in practice. Press freedom was severely restricted during the Second World War. I think there is probably less of reverence by royalty and politicians today than there were 300 years ago, but not by much – in fact, there was some 19th-century caricature of the Prince Regent, which were much that get more outrageous these days.
